Hello there, I’m Megan Gillett and I specialise in composing cinematic music with a distinctive Celtic influence. Primarily inspired by the beauty of the natural world, I believe my music would be particularly well-suited to documentaries, historical dramas and fantasies.

Emotion and intuition is at the heart of my composition process. I currently compose, perform, produce and master all of my own music, with the exception of occasional guest performers. I particularly enjoy combining the folk, classical and electronic genres to create a traditional, ethereal sound.

Alongside my primary instrument of the piano, I play the tin whistle and the uilleann pipes (Irish bagpipes), and often include my own vocals in my compositions. I have spent time in Ireland to study traditional music in great depth, which naturally gives my work a modal, lyrical flavour.

While I have had some early-career success in writing original film and media soundtracks, I am not yet published in the production space. This is largely because I am still an undergraduate student and have had limited time to compose professionally alongside my degree.

In the last two years, I have amassed a collection of 50+ (and growing) sync-ready compositions that are looking for a home in production libraries. I have a lot to learn about the world of production music before I graduate next year, so I would really appreciate the opportunity to develop relationships with other composers, music supervisors and sync agencies alike.
