Did I really do that?
As a musician, I’ve already been on many stages in my life. I’m no stranger to piano recitals, orchestral performances or even conducting my own compositions. By now, nerves are like an old friend I have learnt to control and even appreciate.
However, I very rarely have to use words to communicate with an audience. Most of the time, it’s a simple introduction before I return to the comfort of the piano keys.
This meant that talking about my business in front of hundreds of people was a very new challenge. I joked multiple times with the Foundership cohort that I should just say hello and then let my music do the rest of the talking.
Despite this, I realised that public speaking isn’t as scary as it initially looks. In many ways, it’s just like a musical performance. After lots of practice, I was ready to present at the Student Founder Showcase.
I was extremely lucky to have an amazing team of mentors behind me and a wonderful group of other founders on the cohort.
